Faith In Action Of Bloomington-Normal

Who We Are

Faith in Action is a local, volunteer-driven nonprofit working to help keep the seniors in our community independent and in their own homes.

We have a multitude of flexible volunteer opportunites designed to fit into your schedule! There is no minimum time requirement to volunteer.

History: The local Faith in Action program was started with a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2005. An advisory board was formed, a director was hired, and Second Presbyterian Church donated office space. PATH served as the fiscal agent for the program for the first 30 months. We began serving a handful of older adults who needed to get to doctor appointments and grocery shopping trips as well as friendly calls and visits to those who had no in-town family or close friends.

We have grown from our original 7 congregations of support to about two dozen congregations who actively work with and support us. We also benefit from the support of folks who are not affiliated with a congregation, but who want to serve seniors with us. We serve over 450 older adults and with the aging population, that number keeps growing.
