Governor Pat Quinn recently proclaimed March 23 - 29 National Service Week in Illinois, and we join the governor in encouraging people across Illinois to find ways to give back to their communities. Service does something in a way that nothing else can - it, like spring, also rejuvenates the spirit, and provides hope to those around us. But, unlike spring, service can occur all year round. And, in order to recognize this year-round dedication, we will also be celebrating National Volunteer Appreciation Week from April 7 - 13.

Without volunteers, where would any of us be? Most non-profits rely heavily on the knowledge, skills and generousity of their volunteers to help them carry out their missions. So, on behalf of all McLean County organizations that use volunteers - non-profits, schools, government agencies, hospitals, foundations, professional & community organizations - United Way of McLean County would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have given freely of your time, talent and spirit to uplift our community. We couldn't do it without you.
